All our products are carefully inspected to ensure authenticity and quality. We only take 100% original products on commission. Should we be unsure about the origin of a product, we will refrain from selling it.

The condition standards we use are as follows:

0 - NEVER WORN, WITH TAG

A never-worn item with tag is an item which has never been worn and still has the original purchase hangtags on it (including a photo of the tag).

Eligibility criteria: No defects, original purchase tags, no alterations

1 - NEVER WORN

A never-worn item without a tag is an item which has never been worn and shows no defects or alterations.

Eligibility criteria: No defects, no alterations

 2 - VERY GOOD CONDITION

An item in very good condition is a second-hand item which has been only lightly used and extremely well maintained, which can show slight defects from usage. These must be mentioned in the description and visible on the photos.

Eligibility criteria: Slight wear from being used or well-done alterations which are mentioned in the description and/or visible in the photo. No damage to the material, no odour, no missing pieces.

3 - GOOD CONDITION

An item in good condition is a second-hand item which has been worn and well maintained. If the item has defects, they must be mentioned in the description and visible in the photos.

Eligibility criteria: Alterations mentioned in the description and/or visible in the photo. Slight wear to the material is accepted. No holes, tears, rust or odour. Can be a vintage item in very good condition.

4 - VINTAGE CONDITION

An item is not necessarily vintage from its age alone but has vintage features which give character to the piece. For example, the leather has developed an used patina due to frequent use. Typically items show more signs of wear (scuffed corners, used up hardware, etc.) but still correspond to PRELOVEDSTORY's high quality standards. All usage features or possible defects are mentioned in the description and clearly visible in the pictures.

Eligibility criteria: Wear from being used mentioned in the description and/or visible in the photo. No torn corners, no broken parts.

If products include their original boxes, dust bags, authenticity certificates and/or manuals, these will be mentioned in the product description and pictures. Therefore please read every unique product description carefully.

Yes, we always take as many detailed images of every product necessary that we sell. We do our best to provide images of areas of wear and tear.

As an online-only retailer, we do not have a showroom to display our products. Please note that we are not able to provide access to our warehouse for walk-in customers.

Shipping policy

PRELOVEDSTORY ships worldwide and offers free shipping on all orders in Switzerland. International shipping is free for orders above CHF 500. For orders below that value, we charge a flat rate of CHF 15.00.

We strive to ship your order as soon as possible (typically within 1-3 business days).

Domestic orders (within Switzerland) are shipped with Swiss Post registered mail (signature upon delivery required) or if around the Zurich area, delivered by PRELOVEDSTORY direclty.

International orders are shipped with DHL (you will receive a track & trace number to follow your order).

Typically, delivery time in Europe is of 1-4 business days. Delivery time for the rest of the world can vary from 3-6 business days or longer, depending on the region/country. We cannot influence customs rules within your country.

Returns and exchanges

Our highest goal at PRELOVEDSTORY is customer satisfaction. That is why we offer a 14 day return policy.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will gladly refund or exchange your item under the following conditions, no questions asked:

- Notify us within 14 days of receiving your item. Merchandise must be unused and returned in the same condition as received.

- Each security tag must remain intact and attached to the item. Return shipment must be made via a trackable shipping method.

- PRELOVEDSTORY is not responsible for shipping charges related to returns. To initiate a return, please contact us hello@prelovedstory.com. Please note that PRELOVEDSTORY cannot refund items lost in transit.

- Refunds will be processed as soon as we receive and examine the returned item. Returned items will be compared to original photos taken of the item before the initial delivery to you. If the item is found to have been used or to be in a condition different from its original, we reserve the right to refuse the return. These items will be returned back to the customer. Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable.

PRELOVEDSTORY reserves the right for compensation up to the full value of the item(s) if any of the above conditions are not met.

SELL YOUR ITEMS ONLINE / CONCIERGE SERVICE

We only accept authentic designer, high-end and vintage items for women, men and children: clothes, bags, shoes, jewellery and accessories.

If you want to sell an item, please check our list of beloved designers (we also accept designers that are not in that list, the list is just a barometer). We also accept articles from emerging contemporary brands. To list your items, please contact hello@prelovedstory.com including some pictures and short description of your item.

Items must be in good condition, clean and fit for resale. Our quality department will decide if your item is accepted and added to our selection or not. Please mention any defects and add an exact description of the condition of the item. Also please include original dustbags, authenticity cards, accessories, invoices or any documents still available. This will raise the value of your item and thus your gain!

If deemed fit to our online store, we will provide you with a pre-paid shipping label to ship your item(s) to us or if you are around the Zurich are, PRELOVEDSTORY will pick up the item(s) directly.

Once your item is selected by our curation team, you will receive a commission agreement from us that lists all items taken on commission. Here we note down a target selling price based on the original price, condition and demand. Your share is ultimately calculated as a percentage of the actual final price achieved at the time of sale.

The target selling price can be adjusted as the market requires some flexibility for negotiations with potential buyers (promotions, sale, negotiations) - all of that is agreed in detail in the commission agreement.

The commission agreement also defines these conditions, next to the commission period (which is typically 4 months but can be agreed upon individually).

We charge a low 30-40% commission compared to the typical 50% you find in most consignment stores. Additional transaction fees including credit card fees, PayPal fees, and marketing fees are also covered by us. 

Our commission includes:

- Picking up your item (concierge service around Zurich) or providing a free shipping label for you to send us your item

- Taking professional pictures of the item

- Listing the product online

- Storage, advertising costs, social media and any customer related issues connected to the sales process

- Shipping & handling to the buyer

We pay out sold pieces as quickly as possible, ideally within a week but could take up to 2-3 weeks to be visible in your bank account.  You will find all relevant information, prices, payout date, etc. in a transparent and clear way on your commission agreement. We will notify you immediately if one of your pieces has sold. Please note: If you do not receive any notifications, this means none of your pieces have sold yet.

Of course we hope to find a new owner for all your items. The goods will be taken in for the commission period agreed upon in the commission form (typically 4 months). Once that period expires, PRELOVEDSTORY will inform you by e-mail that the products could not be sold and agree on further steps with you.

If we do not receive any response from you, we will ship your items to the address specified in the Commission Agreement. If, for whatever reason, the products could not be delivered and are returned to PRELOVEDSTORY we will inform you by e-mail. If there is still no response and you fail to provide us with a valid delivery address for the products within three months upon receipt of the e-mail, the products become the property of PRELOVEDSTORY GmbH, without you receiving any financial compensation.

Yes, for an expense allowance of CHF 100 per item (regardless of value). The expense allowance is based on the costs incurred by PRELOVEDSTORY (e.g. storage costs, advertising costs, online shop costs, etc.).
